One versus one. Waits for the match to start; on the first human player the duel against the DuelbOt begins automatically after a short countdown.

Launch UT2004 with the maintained OldUnreal patch 3374 (Windows 7+ or Intel/Apple-Silicon Mac).
In the main menu open Join Game, right-click the server list, choose “Open IP”, enter the address of the server you want (for example 178.105.81.142:23300) and connect with OK.
Alternatively on Windows: press the console key (~ on a US keyboard), type open followed by the address (such as open 178.105.81.142:23300) and confirm with Return. On a Mac no key opened the console in the main menu during our test; use Open IP there.
On first connect the client auto-downloads maps and mods — this can take a moment.
Clicking the address launches UT2004 directly if the OldUnreal installer registered the ut2004:// link on Windows or Linux (the default there). The macOS app has no handler for this link, so on a Mac the click only copies the address for Open IP.
Instant Rumble only · in normal public game chat, not the console or team chat.
Type !bots in normal public game chat to see every option. Use !bots easy, !bots normal, !bots hard or !bots brutal for a fixed level; !bots easier and !bots harder move it by one step. !bots status shows the current setting.
With one human on the server, the change takes effect immediately and is confirmed in chat. With multiple humans it starts a 60-second vote: everyone accepts with !bots yes or rejects with !bots no. The difficulty can be changed again after 90 seconds.
The level survives map changes and returns to Normal automatically after the server has been empty for a while.
Bot-free play is optional: !bots off turns it on — with two or more human players all bots disappear. With multiple humans the same unanimous 60-second vote runs with !bots yes and !bots no. If only one human is left, the map-based bot fill returns after 30 seconds; if a second human joins first, it stays bot-free. !bots on restores the normal bot fill. Without !bots off nothing happens automatically.
